MMC is a private Christian medical college committed to providing an excellent education for Ethiopia’s future doctors.
Our mission is to educate medical students in God’s love and equip them to be competent and compassionate,‘servant leader-minded’ doctors, fully-equipped to treat the whole person and capable of future improvement in the delivery of healthcare to all the people of Ethiopia. Our vision is simply to become the nation’s preeminent institution for medical education.

In keeping with our dedication to excellence, MMC has a state-of-the-art facility including a main building housing classrooms, computer lab, histology/pathology lab, library, offices, and the student lounge. A second wing includes a large cafeteria and a 200 /1000 seat auditorium. A third building includes brand new anatomy and microbiology labs. On-site dormitory and brand new library, plus sports facilities just completed. The entire campus is connected to broadband internet, and there are multiple computer terminals for student use throughout the buildings. The medical college houses its own intranet medical library with 1000s of written and video resources. Finally, an international & Ethiopian faculty is committed to developing the finest doctors anywhere.

The MMC has a modern curriculum organized in large modules which integrates various pre-clinical and clinical specialties, rather than offering separate courses. Exposure to clinical medicine occurs from the first year, and clinical skills are emphasized throughout the six-year program. Unlike any in the African Continent, the MMC program integrates medical ethics, servant leadership, community service and mentoring with clinical practice at all levels, thus preparing Ethiopian physicians to be future leaders of integrity, compassion, and excellence. Instruction is provided by a diverse faculty which includes Ethiopian and expatriate professors, particularly from the USA and Korea. MMC is listed on IMED. 1st medical college to introduce Family Medicine into the curriculum.

Unlike most other medical colleges, MMC limits its class size to 45 students, thus ensuring very high academic standards and personalized instruction in small groups. Up to 20% of each entering 1st Year Class is reserved for qualifying students from other African countries, USA, Canada and from Korea, thus giving the student body a unique international flavor. The small student body is held together through common dormitories, extra-curricular events, and spiritual activities.
